How to get readers into my WordPress Website?
by mitz on May 12, 2010
I have a WordPress blog now, but I can’t figure out how to get readers into there! I have been using MySpace and it’s been great, subscriptions like crazy, but a lot of them don’t have wordpress…so no leads there. Besides, I am posting the same info to both, so it’s not much of a point of them getting one. How can I increase my WordPress readership? I already utilize tags, but I still only got about 89 views in two weeks.
Thanks in advance–serious answers only, please!

It may be too late for this advice but I think you should have thought of social media. You could have started a page on your blog and then make sure as many friends as possible get to know about it and also visit it.
Instead of using myspace you should use facebook with some unique and interesting concept. It will increase your blog awareness and give some boost your readership. You should give a try to every social community. According to my observation Tech forums will help you more than myspace.

Freebies always work well. Try to give some incentive to your readers and commentator to so they love to comment on your blog. Giving a free ebook or something like that will encourage your reader to comment.

Social media is one of the best ways to attracts user on a new blog or a website. You should focus on Facebook and Google + as well to support your traffic needs no doubt myspace very helpful to generate new users and convert them into regular readers but it needs time. Try to make your blog a bran I now it’s very difficult or looks like impossible but it is worthwhile to try.

I think by keeping your self intact with your social networks, blog comments, and forum postings, are the best way to remain in touch with your readers, and can bring traffic to your website that way! Also you have to optimize your website in a way, so that the readers visit your website, and also you have a good ranking in search engines.
I should really become a more proactive blogger. I have been meaning to delve in the world of Podcasting, Guest Blogging and Cross Promotion. It has reminded me that I need to give more to the community. Thank your for posting.
You will find something that will work for your website!!! I found some sites where I actually get traffic from by commenting…and forums…But not many…
Also posting articles on the top articles sites like ezine articles and article base….They work for me…But that depends if you hit on the right keywords…
I tried many social network but it seems anyone of them doesn’t help much in attracting traffic to website at all.
Install the right plugins on your Wordpress websites and this will bring more traffic without extra work.
Barry’s ideas are great also.
Commenting on other blogs is a great way to get traffic to your blog. Another really good way is to use sites like Stumble Upon. I get 500-800 visitors a day some days just from Stumble Upon.
I am also a member of a social power linking group. We share posts with each other and vote up the ones we like.

You could put comments on blogs like yours with links to your site at the bottom, sorta like a sign-out.
